Intensive Chinese language study at Peking University, located on the outskirts of Beijing, affords students some of the finest resources and language teaching staff available in China today. Classes in Beginning, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Chinese meet for four hours every morning, Monday through Friday with 10-15 students in each class.

Weekend excursions in and around Beijing introduce students to the ancient and modern wonders of the city, such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, etc. Most universities in the United States will recognize a certificate issued by Peking University at the conclusion of the program to all students who pass their final exam. Check with the Study Abroad department in your school for specific requirements. Tai-chi, Chinese Calligraphy, and Brush Painting will also be offered.

Cost

USD $4,780.00: Includes tuition, room, meal stipend, textbooks, banquets, PKU student ID, PKU library ID, weekend excursions and predetermined entertainment. Does not include visa fee and international airfare. Group departure scheduled for June 21st, arrive in Beijing on June 22nd and class starts on June 23rd.

The Chinese Language Education & Research Center, a division of the Chinese Culture Center of California, is a non-profit organization that has been engaged in cultural exchange programs between China and the United States since 1990. It promotes Chinese language research, instruction & learning in the United States. The summer Chinese language program at Peking University is one of the major educational exchange programs it offers to scholars and college students in the United States.
