Chinese Language Education & Research Center

A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Chinese Language Education & Research Center (CLERC) is a non-profit institution devoted to the research and development of Chinese language teaching & learning in the US and to the promotion of Sino-US cultural and educational exchanges.  

Established in the City of Millbrae, California in April 1993, the board members of CLERC are composed of prominent Chinese language professors and specialists from China and the US. Its present nine board members are: Professor Ling-Chi Wang (UC Berkeley), Cecilia Chu (UC Berkeley, Professor), Tim Xie (CSU Long Beach, Professor), Chaofen Sun (Stanford University, Professor), Li Xiaoqi (Peking University, Professor), Zhang Pu (Beijing Language University, Professor), Jia Yimin (Jinan University, Professor), Pan Zhaoming and Ms. Betty Shi, research fellow at CLERC.
