Nan Hai Company, Inc., U.S.A, is a California corporation that was founded in San Francisco in 1987. Currently headquartered in the Continental Plaza Building in Millbrae, fifteen miles south of San Francisco. Nan Hai Company is dedicated to cultural and education exchange between China and the United States. To this end, Nan Hai Company has three major divisions.

The Book Division includes a retail and online stores. We offer the biggest collection of learning Chinese textbooks and reference materials, Chinese Culture textbooks, Business Chinese textbooks, books on HSK, Pinyin and Dictionaries. Book titles include selections from several of China's largest universities and commercial publishers.

The Education Division runs several programs designed for non-native speakers of Chinese, including study tours to and from China, and preparatory classes for Chinese proficiency exams like the Scholastic Aptitude Test in Chinese (developed by the College Boards) and the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK), required of all foreign students planning to study in China. The Education Division is also in charge of arranging study tours for special interest groups and delegations from China.

The Nan Hai Arts Center, established in 1990, hosts and sponsors cultural and artistic exchange activities. The Arts Center houses a fine arts gallery - the largest gallery showcase for Chinese fine arts in the Bay Area - which has brought dozens of exhibitions of contemporary painting, calligraphy, photography, and crafts from China. The Arts Center also arranges cultural exchanges such as performance tours by Chinese groups in the U.S. as well as American tours to China.
